Designing for Driven Piles in Expansive Soils

Presented By: Clayton Signor, MSE, MBA

Presented By: Tx Pile, LLC

Abstract:

Designing for Driven Piles in Expansive Soils will introduce pile driving in this problematic soil and identify the roles and responsibilities of structural and geotechnical engineers along the design process highlighting open communication as a must. Time permitting, case studies will be discussed to further illustrate how drilled shaft designs have been converted into driven pile designed projects with reduction in projects’ schedules and budgets.

    Bio:

Clayton Signor has been around pile driving all of his life, starting with field work during high school and college to estimating and managing current projects rangingfrom $5000 to $500,000+. His three graduate degrees in construction management, geotechnical engineering, and business are put to use everyday in design/build driven pile projects mainly in Central Texas. Over the years, Clayton has been heavily involved in Deep Foundations Institute and Pile Drivers Contractors Association where he has been exposed to international experts in the area.
